Ocean Optics has a select number of
internships available for the summer 2008 in our applications and
knowledge database division.
The Ocean Optics
internship program is a multi-purpose event. We are seeking to solve
a wide variety of technical questions with our spectrometers and
miniature fiber optic accessory products with the invaluable
assistance and creative talents of our interns.
The 8 week
internship is ideal for college students interested in science
and engineering; specifically chemical and optical analysis. Interns
will be provided intensive training and "real-world" hands-on
experience supporting customers and projects at the leading global
supplier of miniature spectrometers and optical sensing instruments.
This would be an ideal internship for those entering their junior or
senior year in college who are interested in chemistry, biology,
optical engineering or physics.
These
internships will be based in the Tampa Bay area at our downtown
Dunedin, FL facility. At the conclusion of a successful internship,
selected interns may be certified to become Ocean Optics Field
Application Specialists (FAS). FAS’s are independent contractors who
may assist Ocean Optics clients at their facilities to help evaluate
suitability for Ocean Optics products and provide local field
installation and support. FAS’s are paid per engagement by Ocean
Optics and work closely with Ocean Optics scientists, engineers and
sales team to provide a world-class customer experience while
attending college. Certification as a FAS is contingent on the final
evaluation of the intern's proficiency and professionalism at the
end of the summer.
Ultimately,
we are looking for talent. We feel that our internship program
provides a platform for mutual discovery between Ocean Optics and
potential fellow employees or field application specialists who may
work towards customer support initiatives or an Ocean Optics advocate in your
next endeavor.
If you enjoy
learning from experts in the industry; an environment that is
fast-paced, friendly and casual dress; have an interest in basic
science and analysis, and want the potential to earn money
when you return to school, then apply for an Ocean Optics internship
today. The internship program starts on or about June 23rd through
August 22.
